Today, House Democrats introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act, led by House Sustainable Energy Coalition (SEEC) Clean Energy Deployment Task Force Co-Chairs Rep. Sean Casten (IL-06) and Mike Levin (CA-49). The legislation is a consumer-first energy policy that would deploy more cheap, clean energy to lower costs and increase reliability. In response, Evergreen Action Executive Director Lena Moffitt released the following statement:
“The Energy Bills Relief Act paves the way to real relief on energy bills now, while building as much cheap, abundant, clean energy as possible to lower bills in the long run. That’s the alternative to Trump’s agenda, which has done the exact opposite: sabotaging tens of billions in clean energy investments and locking Americans into dependence on the expensive, volatile fossil fuels that pad his donors’ profits. Since day one, Trump has delivered skyrocketing energy bills instead of the relief he promised. But high prices aren’t inevitable. These are deliberate choices by this administration, and Democrats are fighting back with real solutions.”
